Southern Delaware School of the Arts serves more than 400 students in grades one through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as reading, writing and math. The school offers breakfast and lunch programs. Southern Delaware School of the Arts operates a parent-teacher organization and provides a library. It is governed by the Indian River School District, which is one of the largest school districts in Delaware. Founded in 1969, the district operates a range of elementary, middle and high schools. The Indian River School District offers several speech, occupational and physical therapy programs for children having challenges in balance, motor planning, and visual and sensory perceptions.
