Established in 2002, Smyrna Middle School serves approximately 750 students in grades seven and eight. Its academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally offers classes in art, music and physical education. Smyrna Middle School has an athletics department that offers a variety of sports activities, such as hockey, soccer, basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, cross country and softball. It supports several organizations that include the National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America and student council, as well as drama, chorus, band, yearbook and communications clubs. In addition, the school offers an honors program for gifted and talented students. It is located in Smyrna, Del., and is a part of the Smyrna School District.
