Established in 1962, the Delaware Skills Center provides a range of job-oriented educational programs. The center has served more than 9,000 students. Its syllabus includes courses in computer networking, construction and health care. The center conducts classes in welding, construction electricity, ferrous metal piping, soldering and brazing, and the safety and use of hand and power tools. It also provides classes in nursing and medical billing and coding. The center employs senior operations and training specialists and building systems maintenance, computer repair and youth construction instructors. Located in Wilmington, Del., its facilities include shops and clinical areas. In addition, the Delaware Skills Center offers career guidance and life skills training services.
