Platt is Meriden's public high school on the west side of the city, near Lincoln Middle School and Wilcox Vocational School. In addition to general core courses, Platt offers vocational, technology and language training. For high-performing students, the school offers honors and Advanced Placement classes and the University of Connecticut's Early College Experience program, in which high school students can take UCONN classes in their high schools. Platt also has a community service requirement for all students. The school is in the South Division of the Central Connecticut Conference and its mascot is the Panthers.
