Stratford Baptist Church's history dates back to 1924 when 24 original members organized at the home of Alice Haley. In 1923, Bartrum Hall was rented to hold services with Fred Farnsworth acting pastor. A church was dedicated on Broadbridge Avenue in 1924. In 1943, property along Paradise Green was purchased and a relocated and rebuild chapel from North Carolina was dedicated in 1950 on the site, with an education building added in 1960 and a parsonage added in 1968.
