River Valley Services administers all the programs in a 17-town region. This service is funded by the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and it offers: crisis intervention, case management, addiction and residential and clinical services to adults (18 and older) who suffer from serious mental disorders yet lack the financial means to obtain services in the private sector.
Services are provided under contracts with Gilead Community Services; Middlesex Hospital Center for Behavioral Health; The Community Health Center; Kuhn Employment Opportunities; and St. Vincent DePaul Place of Middletown.
Towns served by River Valley Services are: Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland and Westbrook.
