The Southington Fire Department operates with just over 30 full-time firefighters and about 75 volunteers at four locations. The department is responsible for services including fire prevention, fire suppression, code enforcement, rescues and emergency medical response. Headquarters is located along North Main Street and overlooks the Quinnipiac River. The station is also home to Engine Co. 1, one of four volunteer engines in Southington. The department is led be Fire Chief Harold L. Clark, who also serves as the town's fire marshal.
