The Seventh-day Adventist Church, located on Meriden's East side, draws parishioners from in town and those from as far away as New Britain to its Saturday Sabbath services. It boasts vibrant worship activities, like a choir, youth and adult Bible study and even cooking classes. Church elders say their meticulous library, located in a quiet balcony overlooking the pulpit, is an important tool in training children in biblical literacy -- both to nourish the spirit and promote good communication skills. For the outside community, this congregation hosts prayer breakfasts and does volunteer outreach in local senior centers.
