Tucked into the back of the Community Center is the help older residents need to remain happy and in their homes. Services for the Elderly, run by Executive Director Nancy Walker, uses a team of 180 volunteers to visit, shop for and deliver meals-on-wheels to the town's elderly. The office also provides rides to appointments and loans out medical equipment. Neighbors Helping Neighbors is run out of the office and is always looking for volunteers for small jobs. Services for the Elderly, Inc. was started in 1965 by local women Hope Emery and Dorothy Sinclair as they were caring for elderly parents. It is a partner agency of the United Way.
