History
Nutmeg Curling Club was founded in 1960, and under first club president, Ted Bartlett, a group of 23 curlers leased the ice time from the Crystal Ice Palace (now defunct) in Norwalk, CT. Nutmeg moved to the Darien Country Club until 1998, during which time its members went to Olympic trials, won regional championships and went to the Nationals. In October 2006, after tireless from volunteers and donors kept the club alive, Nutmeg moved into its new home at the Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport, CT. Nutmeg provides leagues for all its members, including Junior and College curling. As members of the Grand National Curling Club (GNCC), the United States Curling Association (USCA) and United States Women's Curling Association (USWCA), Nutmeg members participate in many bonspiels in the and Canada and hosts its own bonspiels. Its many members continue to contribute their time and effort to maintain and build on the solid beginning the founders of the Nutmeg Curling Club established in 1960.
