North Branford High School is located behind Memorial Park and adjacent to North Branford Middle School. Its 700 students receive education in math, science, English, social studies, art, music, physical education, business and technical education. According to the district's 2009 Strategic School Profile, North Branford High School's students performed well above the state average in three of four CAPT categories but slightly below state averages in the SAT college placement exam.
Among the school's stated goals for student skills are effective writing, clear and accurate speaking, problem-solving, technological proficiency and a responsible, community-minded character.
The North Branford Thunderbirds participate in fall, winter and spring sports in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletics conference.
