Iyengar Yoga Scarsdale was established in 1995 of individualized classes of 8 or less people in a fully equipped studio dedicated to yoga, connected to the teacher's family home.The practice then grew, with Iyengar Yoga Scarsdale providing classes in Greenwich and other Westchester studios. For her whole teaching career, Nancy has taught yoga pro-bono on a volunteer basis with therapeutic instruction at different venues, currently in White Plains at Gilda's Club and at Westchester Mental Health Association Sterling House.

Whole Self Fitness With over twenty years of experience, certified Iyengar Yoga teacher Nancy Kardon teaches practitioners of all levels in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar. In this hands on approach, the postures are adapted and adjusted to meet individual and special needs. The postures are taught step by step to build a body of knowledge. You learn to cultivate awareness with attention to posture , adjusting your anatomical alignment ( connecting one body part to another and the parts to the whole ) to create space and to release hard stuck constricting habitual patterns. You cultivate balance,movement ease, strength, agility, and endurance.and learn how to avoid problems yet to come. Restorative yoga , as well as Pranayama which works with energy/ breath are practices which further teach quieting of the nervous system.. Over time and with curiosity and a dedicated practice, this teaching of alignment of body,mind senses, and breath becomes a path toward freedom and equanimity
