The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, founded by Paul Newman and A.E. Hotchner, in collaboration with its associated camps in the United States and abroad, provides children with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions a quality camping experience. Each summer more than 1,000 children between the ages of seven and 15 from across the country and abroad attend The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp free of charge. The camp also offers year-round activities for campers and other seriously ill children and their siblings and sponsors programs that provide health care professionals and social workers with support and training. For hospitalized children with serious illnesses, the camp s hospital outreach program takes its camp-in-a-suitcase programs to New England hospitals and clinics where it provides a bedside experience to raise the spirits and help sustain youngsters for the road ahead. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Ashford, Conn.
