This two-pronged, second-generation family business has been in operation in Middletown since 1947. Ghezzi's Deli offers traditional deli fare, including bagels and cream cheese. Homemade blonde brownies made fresh daily often sell out as soon as they're cool. Next door in the same building, Ghezzi's Package Store is accessible through a different entrance, in keeping with liquor laws.

It's not hard to see why Food Fare Market has been in business as long as it has. The owners are a husband-and-wife team who offer friendly personal service to their loyal customer base, many of whom they greet by name. This mini supermarket offers most basic grocery needs in addition to prepared foods. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available all day for take-out seven days per week. The deli offers sandwiches on fresh rolls or grinders and full-course meals. Catering or platters are available for small or large gatherings. Select meats, produce, Boar's Head cold cuts, and Connecticut farm eggs can all be bought here. Charcoal for your grill, lotto, a large assortment of beverages, and Green Mountain coffee by the cup or pound are also available. As a service to the community, they are pleased to offer free local delivery to senior citizens, along with a 5 percent discount.
