Foundation High School is a not-for-profit that caters to 14- to 21-year-old students with developmental needs, behavioral challenges and learning deficits. Besides academics like science, math, English, art and music, pupils are taught how to live life independently by, for example, getting and holding down jobs.
Vocational courses include food service, graphic arts and woodworking. Samples of students' work hang from the trees outside the school in the form of colorfully painted wooden birdhouses.
