Fitch Middle School is part of the Groton Public Schools and serves about 400 students in grades six through eight. About one-third of the student body changes during the year, and about half of the middle school's students have parents in the military.
Fitch Middle School teaches traditional academic subjects and offers activities such as participating in concerts, drama productions, sports, student council, yearbook and the school newspaper.
The school houses a school-based health center that is staffed with a nurse practitioner and mental health worker who can provide sick visits, counseling and physicals to students.
