Faith Center Church is a "United Churches in Christ" congregation, led by Bishop Joseph Norfleet. Norfleet is a Meriden resident and former Connecticut Department of Corrections officer who founded the church in 1989 and now acts as presiding bishop for the network of United Churches in Christ, which are located in and outside of the U.S. Faith Center has ministries for children, singles, a robust women's program run by the bishop's wife, Maddaline Norfleet, dance team ministries and a men's ministry. The church also founded and runs an orphanage in southern India for children affected by the 2005 tsunami that swept through Southeast Asia.
