Ridgefield High School (RHS ) is a rigorous public school in the state's top District Reference Group. RHS has 1,800 students and 156 faculty members. The school offers 20 advanced placement courses, and more than 90 percent of the class of 2008 matriculated at four-year colleges. The school competes as the Ridgefield Tigers in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference. RHS has an open, airy space for students to eat— more reminiscent of a college student center than a high school cafeteria. Near that area is the Student Life Office, which helps oversee more than 40 student clubs and activities, which range from publications to cultural clubs to a cappella. The principal, Jeffrey Jaslow, holds weekly lunchtime sessions he calls "JasTime" to keep in touch with the student body.
