Bristol Boys & Girls Club, founded in 1907, aims to help youth of all backgrounds by offering a wide range of life-enrichment and character development programs. The club provides prevention programs for youth, that include gang, alcohol, drug, tobacco, teen sex and pregnancy prevention. Its job readiness is a program designed to help teens prepare for work and includes job shadowing, interview techniques, communications skills, proper dress and attitude. The club also offers a five-core program, including character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, arts, and sports, fitness and recreation. Its after school programs provides a structured day program to youth between 5- and 13-years with academic and recreational services. It has many has many local and national sponsors and affiliates, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, United Way of America, Comcast and the Main Street Community Foundation. The club is located in Bristol, Conn.
