The Zagat-rated Boom Restaurant is a great place to satisfy your desire for exceptional fine cuisine. The ambiance is quiet and elegant, and the food is delicious.
This Boom is owner Jean Fuller Gest's third foray into opening a Boom restaurant. Opened in 2008, it was preceded in 2002 by the seasonal Boom at Pilot's Point in Westbrook.
The cuisine is 'Creative American' with many items sourced from local purveyors. Ingredients are natural and with everything freshly made to order, meals can be easily customized.
Of note is the Lobster Ravioli, as well as the well-known local Stonington Scallops, pan seared with an orange ginger buerre blanc.
Desserts are created by Francis Baldwin, who trained in Paris with Le Notre. One such treat is a flourless chocolate torte made with Calabeaut Belgian chocolate.
