The Basilica of St. John is a Catholic institution that is known to its parishioners as the "Mother Church of Stamford." This building can be found on Atlantic Street between Bell Street and Tresser Boulevard, not far from Stamford Town Square and Veterans Park. Masses are held two times a day from Monday through Saturday and throughout the day on Sunday. Confessions and rosary prayers are also held at specific times during the week. Parish groups include the Holy Name Men's Society, a Sunday School, Introduction to Biblical Greek and the St. Dominic Savio Society.
