History
I started RugMasters in 2006 to provide the Four Corners area with true professional in-plant rug cleaning. My in-home cleaning company, UltraSteam, had many clients with fine rugs who wanted them cleaned here in Durango, instead of sending them to Denver, Phoenix or Albuquerque. However, wool rugs require different cleaning methods than wall-to-wall carpet, so I invested in a larger cleaning studio and specialized equipment to do the job right. I also trained with several industry experts, including Lisa Wagner of K. Blatchford's cleaning in San Diego, Aaron Groseclose of IICRC teaching fame and Ellen Amirkhan, a fourth-generation rug cleaner who runs Oriental Rug Cleaning in Dallas. I am an IICRC Certified Rug Cleaner, and a Master Rug Cleaner through Ellen's apprenticeship and training program. (You can learn more about this program and the graduates at MasterRugCleaner.com)
