Adoption Exchange is a nonprofit child welfare organization founded in 1983 to work for safety and permanence in the lives of foster children. The organization provides pre- and post-adoption services, including adoption home studies, pre-adoption education, court reports, post-placement services, social investigative reports, home study updates, informational seminars and community resources. The agency offers pregnancy counseling services to women facing unplanned pregnancies, and provides educational and counseling-centered services to birthparents, adopting parents and adoptees. Its member agencies include the Colorado Department of Human Services, Wyoming Department of Family Services, Adopt A Miracle, Jewish Family Service Agency, Adoption Choices of Colorado and Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota. Since its inception, the agency has placed more than 4,000 children. Headquartered in Aurora, Colo., Adoption Exchange has offices in Missouri, Utah, New Mexico and Nevada.
