Putnam Elementary School of Science, opened in 1956, was named after A. H. Putnam, who was a long-term custodian in the Putnam School District. It supports various after-school extended learning programs that include homework help and small group instruction in math, reading and writing. Putnam Elementary School of Science supports a geographic information system, Math Olympiad, Science Olympiad, girls technology club, the Odyssey of the Mind, Lego robotics, and art and science enrichment sessions. The school has a staff of more than 30 full-time certified teachers and paraprofessionals and an annual enrollment of over 350 students in prekindergarten through sixth grade. Located in Fort Collins, Colo., Putnam Elementary School of Science is a part of the Putnam School District.
