Colorado State Patrol, a division of the Colorado Department of Public Safety, works to ensure safety on the state highways. The division focuses on reducing aggressive driving and fatal and injury crashes, as well as prevents drunken driving cases. It enforces seat belt and child restraint laws and performs child-passenger safety inspections throughout Colorado. Colorado State Patrol also provides training to the state community and other law enforcement agencies. The division distributes statistical information and traffic safety brochures.
