History
PHAMALY was formed by actors with disabilities who became frustrated with the lack of live theatrical performance opportunities in the community for people with disabilities. In response, they formed PHAMALY to create opportunities for themselves and others like them. Since that time, PHAMALY has matured into a professional performing arts organization, with productions cast entirely of actors with disabilities. We have staged 26 major productions and established performing homes at the prestigious Denver Performing Arts Complex, the Arvada Center for Arts & Humanities, and the Aurora Fox Arts Center. We have won dozens of awards, including the 2011 Denver Metro Chamber Award for Small Nonprofit of the Year, the El Pomar Foundation's Award for Excellence in the Arts, the Denver Mayor's Award for Excellence in the Arts, and numerous Colorado Theatre Guild Henry Awards and Denver Post Ovation Awards. In its history, PHAMALY has served over 100,000 participants.
