Penn Square Condominiums Thank you for visiting the Penn Square Website. We hope that if you aren't already familiar with our building, this introduction will provide the information you're looking for. Penn Square was built in 1967-68 as one of central Denver's premier luxury high-rise apartment complexes. Located in the historic district of Capitol Hill, Penn Square commanded some of the most spectacular city & mountain views in the city and was in great demand. In the mid-1970's, Penn Square was converted into condominiums and has remained a primarily owner-occupied building since that time. In 1996, after the successful outcome of a legal action against Dow Chemical Company, Penn Square underwent a major reconstruction and exterior renovation. Not only did this greatly enhance the structural qualities of Penn Square but allowed the modernization of the entire building exterior. To this day, the Penn Square Homeowner's Association continually strives to improve our property and enhance the lifestyle of all Penn Square residents. Capitol Hill was founded in the 1880s as a new residential area for Denver's wealthiest families who graced the neighborhood with some of the most beautiful mansions in the West. These include the historic Molly Brown House and governor's mansion. The Colorado State Capitol building with its glistening golden dome is located on the neighborhood's northwest perimeter at Colfax Avenue & Lincoln Street, just at the juncture with downtown Denver. The dome is seen from many of the units at Penn Square.
