North American Aerospace Defense Command, also known as NORAD, is a binational organization that offers services for aerospace warning and aerospace control for North America. The organization offers assistance with the detection, validation and warning of attacks. It monitors a range of man-made objects in space through aircrafts, missiles and space vehicles. North American Aerospace Defense Command provides services to prepare homeland security for maritime, aerospace, ballistic missile defense, cyber, consequence management and counter terrorism situations. The organization assists civil authorities with military response capabilities to counter domestic airspace threats. In addition, it integrated tactical warning and attack assessment services federal agencies. North American Aerospace Defense Command uses a network of satellites, ground-based radars and airborne fighters for detection.
