Dr. Mark Durbin is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery.His specialty focuses on the care of people who have hand, finger, wrist, arm, elbow, and shoulder injuries or conditions.He has patient appointments in our Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley, CO, offices, as well as at the Colorado State University health center.Dr. Durbin holds board certification through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.He completed fellowship training in hand surgery and microvascular procedures at the University of Utah. Fellowship training provides an additional, sixth year of orthopaedic surgery for physicians following their five years of residency training.Dr. Durbin completed his residency at the University of Indiana Medical Center.He performs hand, finger, wrist, elbow, arm, and shoulder surgeries at hospitals and surgery centers in Fort Collins and Loveland.He provides care for many patients with work-related injuries and conditions. Dr. Durbin takes care of patients from OCRs service area of northern Colorado, Wyoming, and western Nebraska.Dr. Durbin is currently working on an orthopaedic research project to assess the performance of an implant to replace damaged bone in the forearm. The implant is made of pyrocarbon, a form of carbon similar to graphite that is known for its durability. Several other physicians at OCR are also participating in this research, which has been approved by the University of Colorado Health (Poudre Valley Health System) Institutional Review Board (IRB).His interests outside of medicine include spending time with his family, and traveling, skiing, biking, golf, and running.
