History
The original Kobe An was opened in 1979 by Kimie Loeffler, who is from Kobe Japan. Kobe An is the oldest established Japanese restaurant in the Denver metro area. Michelle (Kimie's daughter) and son in law Marco opened Kobe An Shabu shabu. Marco is a trained chef in Japanese cuisine and sushi, graduating from the sushi chef institute in Los Angeles California under chef Andy Matsuda. Marco and Michelle always dreamed of opening the first shabu shabu restaurant in Denver, knowing that great Japanese food is far more then just sushi.
