Energy Corporation of America is the culmination of more than 40 years of growth and diversification, combining Appalachian Basin natural gas development, deep exploration, marketing, and pipeline gathering and transportation to industrial end users, utility purchasers and other customers with higher risk, higher reward exploratory drilling in Texas and internationally. ECA has grown through aggressive acquisition of producing properties, targeted gas and oil exploration, and development. Its energy division is privately owned, and has a rigorous tradition of replacing and growing reserves. Recently, ECA achieved new exploration success in the company's core Appalachian area by discovering new productive zones beneath existing production and extending these zones into frontier areas. Another area of great exploration potential has been the increase in production and reserves from the deep Wilcox play in South Texas. ECA s international exploration program has identified world-class structures and made natural gas discoveries in the East Coast Basin and near Taranaki on North Island, New Zealand. ECA is headquartered in Denver.
