History
Nonprofit Resources, Inc., the for-profit subsidiary of Colorado Nonprofit Association, was established in 1989 and was known as CANPO Administrative Services, Inc. In September of 2005, the name was changed to Nonprofit Resources, Inc., giving the members a better idea of the purpose of the subsidiary. Nonprofit Resources, Inc. is owned by the Association and is governed by a volunteer board of directors. The subsidiary provides a way for the Association to sell insurance products to the members and not jeopardize their nonprofit status. The first products available were health and other employee benefits. Eventually, Workers' Compensation and liability products were added. To provide better service to the members and to grow the business, Nonprofit Resources was structured as an independent insurance agency in 1996 and is goverened by a volunteer board of directors.
