History
Arapaho Valley Ranch has been in operation since the 1970's, but has a long history of helping people enjoy the Colorado Rockies long before that. The ranch started as a lodging facility and camping destination for people back in the early 1900's. It was first known as Murray's Camp and changed hands a few times up until a family called the Weld's purchased it and ran it for many years. Our family, The Gold Family, bought the ranch almost 40 years ago. AVR operated as a dude ranch with horses and cabin rentals. After a huge snow storm in the late 1980's it was shut down after several of the cabins were destroyed by the snow. For the last many years the ranch was used as a personal residence until 2010 when my husband and I met and started a family. We decided to get married at the ranch, and that summer began having conversations about re opening Arapaho Valley Ranch and keep it in the family!
