In 1953, Junior Blind of America was established to provide recreational services for children who were blind or visually impaired. Since its founding by Norman Kaplan and a dedicated group of volunteers, Junior Blind of America's philosophy has been to provide unique programs and services to help individuals maximize their potential and achieve their highest possible level of independence. Junior Blind of America provides services to more than 6,000 individuals each year from California and neighboring states through six exceptional programs that provide education, recreation, training and rehabilitation. The organization is located in Los Angeles.
