United Farm Workers of America s vision is to provide farm workers and other working people with the inspiration and tools to share in society's bounty. In 1962, the first convention of the National Farm Workers Association was convened with hundreds of delegates assembled in an abandoned movie theater in Fresno, Calif. The group's distinctive flag, a black eagle symbol on a white circle in a red field was unveiled at the convention.
