The Vagabond Players was founded in the vaudeville tradition. Artistic Director Sharon Redman started the theater group in 2005. The traveling group performs at senior centers and assisted living communities, churches, colleges and other organizations for seniors.
Each year they also do a live theater production, performing at the historic El Campanil Theatre in Antioch. This is a lively group of thespians who continue to utilize their craft to entertain senior audiences with costumes and props in tote.
Their mission is to enhance the lives of those in the senior community. When the group is hired to perform at a senior center, they are contracted by the center's director for a small fee, which is only used to cover the costs associated with royalty fees for each show. Seniors attend at no charge.
