Based in Berkeley, Urban Chicken Coops is the by product of www.berkeleyrusticbirdhouses.com made by the same artisan who has been providing housing for all types of birds for over a decade. The artisan has been featured in over 30 garden magazines and newspaper and the winner of California's EPA's Waste Reduction Award Program(WRAP) in 2009. Winner of the Best of the East Bay in East Bay Express in 2003, he has also been featured in Bay Area Backroads, Home Garden TV, Balitang America(Filipino Channel), and Univision's Encuentro en la Bahia. He also traveled to Sri Lanka in 2005 to fundraise my teaching local kids how to make birdhouses out of the 2004 tsunami debris which were sold all over the world and another sustainable economic development birdhouse project in Camiguin, Philippines under the Philippine Department of Education and Enigmata Treehouse in January 2007.
