Tree Services is one of the divisions of the Parks and Recreation Department of Sacramento, Calif. It provides care and maintenance support to city streets and park trees. Its areas of responsibilities include tree trimming, removal, pruning and maintenance. Tree Services also removes unhealthy, dangerous and fallen trees. It has a trained staff that undertakes disease and insect control activities and inspects and protects heritage trees. The division also provides online information and guides on tree plantation and maintenance of parks. It also sponsors various planting, public arboricultural and urban forestry events. The division organizes various classes, workshops and programs to educate people about the environment.
