When owner Dr. Charles Schwartz began the Tikkun Holistic Spa in Torrance in 1997, he opened the facilities with hopes of repairing people. Hence the ancient Japanese word "Tikkun," which literally translates to "to repair" or "to fix." Schwartz and his certified staff have taken treatments from all over the world, including Turkey, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Sweden. The spa features acupuntarists, masseuses, chiropractors and physical therapists of all types. It is suggested that when a customer is interested in a specific therapy, such as pre/post pregnancy or deep tissue massage treatments,they should call ahead to ensure the correct technician will be on hand for them.
