Capitola Book Cafe is an independent, locally-owned bookstore featuring an in-house coffee shop and wine bar. Lining its blonde-wood shelves are a great variety of new, used and old books -- some 60,000 titles in all -- as well as cards, magazines, gifts and newspapers. The shop frequently hosts authors readings, workshops and weekly events like story time for kids on Monday mornings (see the Web site for schedule). Barista-crafted coffees, pastries and light meals are served inside or on the patio out front. Wine and beer are served inside.
