Established in 1936, The Catholic Diocese of San Diego has more than 200 priests and operates over 90 parishes and nearly 50 schools and universities. It also maintains the Diocesan Pastoral Center, which serves as the administrative center of the Roman Catholic Church in San Diego and Imperial Counties in California. The diocese employs approximately 3,000 persons in various areas of work.
