History
The Other Side of the Fence first incorporated in September of 2006 with the purpose of preventing cruelty to animals. Our 5 acre animal rescue housed up to fifty homeless animals at a time. We quickly realized that simply taking animals in need was an endless cycle. The beautiful animals we are helping are unable to fix their abusive and neglectful situations, it is the humans we need to reach out to. Our first step at expanding our mission was to incorporate the prevention of cruelty to children into our program. Our first workshops: Creature Teacher, Humane Education, Traveling Cuddle Wagon. Once we began to delve into the prevention of cruelty to children -we became aware that the adults in a household need help too! Our two new programs aim to reach directly into the heart of the problem. Keep Our Pets and Revitalize Humboldt.
