I opened the Opener after leaving an academic career in Cognitive Neuroscience research at Columbia University. I incorporate my understanding of the brain to help train students in meditation and stress-reduction, describing how the meditation techniques influence your physiology.

The Opener is about opening. When we are anxious and stressed, we tend to tighten up and clamp down physically, mentally and emotionally. The Opener provides training in yoga and mindfulness meditation to help relieve stress and allow your body/mind/spirit to open to the beauty in the world to find contentment and joy in the life you have. Group classes, as well as private counseling sessions are available. The Opener also offers a range of massage modalities, including Thai Massage, Shiatsu, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Swedish and Reiki to help unwind your body and mind and reestablish a sense of balance and ease.
