HistoryJoan has been a CPA for over 30 years and works in the areas of corporate, partnership and individual taxes and business planning. She also works in the specialized area of homeowners associations. Joan went to work with Dan Jeffers in 1996, but started in public accounting with Matson and Isom (MIAC) in 1979. Her work in the tax field began there when she transferred to the tax department after getting her audit hours. She worked for MIAC for 11 years then for a medical group for one year, before realizing that public accounting was where she belonged. After nine years with John Powell, CPA, Joan went to work with Dan, because of his emphasis on estate and trust work. She purchased the business from Dan in 2005.
