History
Why the name The Frame Station? The answer lies in the original building that housed this 35-year-old business. Founded in 1981, the original building -- now sadly demolished -- in Mission Hills was a miniature replica of the San Diego Air and Space Museum. Built in 1931, it was originally a gas station and auto dealership selling Model A Fords. When Tom Sandler purchased the business in 1981, he wanted to pay homage to the history of the building so named his business The Frame Station. The rest -- as they say -- is history.
