In 1978, Kirk Forsythe was fortunate to be the second company to be awarded a Yamaha Golf Car franchise. And he never look back. Kirk retired in 2000, and handed the family business over to Jon & Rob, the second generation of Forsythes. The third generation is currently in training and waiting to take over the resigns somtime around 2025.

About the Desert Golf Car Company. In 1971, Kirk Forsy the worked for Valley National Bank. They wanted to transfer him out of town. He did not want to relocate his young family and decided that he would try and find some other line of work. Kirks father-in-law was retired from the Post Office and was working for the dealer who sold Otis Golf Cars. Kirk decided that the golf car business looked promising. On April 1, 1971, Kirk opened his doors selling Flag master Golf Cars. You probably never heard of the mand Kirk Didnt sell too many. With per severance and luck, Kirk eventually sold Otis, Club Car, Western and a couple other lines that only the most knowledgeable golf car guys would remember.
