St. Rita Church, situated directly across from the Fairfax Library, is one of the bigger churches in town The church has a community center, which was the original church building in the early 1900s; hosts a prekindergarten through eight grade school; runs a thrift store that raise money for local, charitable efforts; and Helping Hands, in which volunteers reach out to local residents who need assistance. The church and school have a number of youth programs, including athletics and child care. The parish also encourages congregants to volunteer and become involved in the community.
