Coptic Catholics are traditionally those with Egyptian heritages. This church on Fourth street has been in place since 1993, four years after the small congregation began searching for a meeting space other than a Santa Monica school hall. Since then the church and congragation have had a few specific goals and functions: youth ministry education for high school and junior college students, as well as new immigrants, outreach ministry, study and orientation for newlyweds, and catechumens for new members. A large focus is on the youth, with Vacation Bible Study for children, and a ministry of counseling with parents and teenagers. The majority of the clergy has background and education in the sciences, and the current hegomen is Fr. Paul Megally.
