Jefferson Elementary is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP) Authorized School. The original campus was torn down and rebuilt in 2000. Jefferson Elementary is diverse: as many as half of the students speak another language. The majority of the students at Jefferson are Hispanic and grew up in the downtown area of Carlsbad. In fact, many of the parents and some grandparents of students also attended Jefferson.
