History
River Springs Charter School obtained a five-year charter through Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) in 2007. After the school was given a second five-year term in 2012, and in response to consistent growth, school administrators began to consider expansion by establishing new charters in San Diego, Orange, and San Bernardino Counties. Homeschooling families in each county have requested local learning centers that will provide additional resources such as enrichment classes, tutoring, testing centers, and specialized services. In order to establish learning center options in San Diego and San Bernardino Counties, charters were petitioned and sponsorship granted through Julian Union School District (Harbor Springs Charter School) and Helendale School District (Empire Springs Charter School). All three charter schools function under the existing administration with no anticipated changes to either the educational program or school operations.
